Our client is a highly successful designer and importer of fashion jewelry and accessories marketed to our nation’s leading department stores, mass market, drugstores, and related channels of distribution. |
THE POSITION: |
The person selected for this key role will have responsibility for achieving targeted sales goals for a specific business unit. Will focus on selecting the right merchandise mix to meet or exceed customer needs. Will set achievable gross margin and profit goals. Will effectively utilize extensive knowledge of merchandising concepts and management techniques to maximize retail selling space and ROI. Will continually conduct trend research to interpret fashion trends and lifestyles for the design and launch of market ready jewelry and accessories. Will partner with Design, Planning, Product Development, and Marketing and related internal teams regarding retail mark-ups, merchandise flow, and on-time merchandise delivery. Will develop merchandise assortment plans, and set seasonal merchandise goals and proper pricing. Will track sales performance and add or delete to merchandise mix to ensure success. Will select merchandise for print advertising. |
THE CANDIDATE: |
The successful candidate should be a well respected degreed merchant with expertise working for a progressive national specialty fashion jewelry manufacturer or retailer. Requires a true merchant who understands today’s fashion trends who can partner with retail accounts to ensure business success. Must be fully versed in open to buy and inventory reporting. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is a must. Ideal career opportunity for a strong negotiator who presents well and has the leadership skills to inspire others and grow a business. |
